MRS. GILMAN'S CLASS SCHEDULE AND ASSIGNMENTS

1st period - Junior High Spanish

2nd to 3rd period - Elementary Reading (9:30-10:45 AM)

4th period - 8th Grade Geography Summit

5th period - Prep

6th period - Spanish I

7th period - MTDA/SH/Spanish II


WEEKLY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS
*all assignments are subject to change on any given day
*all assignments are written daily on the board 
*I will make every effort to list weekly assignments here
*If you wish to see Unit plans for a specific class I have a hard copy in my room

 **time allowed for work in class is determined by overall student behavior during lesson time.  If the lecture portion is not interrupted by student behavior then there is usually time to finish the daily assignment and your student will not have homework.  I emphasize your student's responsibility for his or her education.  If your student has homework from my class, it should only take 10-15 minutes of their home time.  I do expect up to 30 minutes to study for quizzes and tests.  Your Spanish student can also access on-line study help at PHschool.com.  There are web codes within their chapters that will help them review and quiz themselves.

JUNIOR HIGH SPANISH (1ST PERIOD)

Monday - new group 8th grade, introduce Realidades book, discuss format, table of content, expectations and goals for each chapter, discuss and practice alphabet, focus on vowels and extra letters

Tuesday - begin the PE chapter, read pgs. 1-4, practice greeting different times of day and asking someone's name, practice saying own name

Wednesday -read pgs. 5-7, do all activities, can begin filling in vocabulary worksheets

Thursday - read pgs. 8-10, do all activities, vocabulary worksheets and corresponding wb pages.  Do first 2 pages of guided practice worksheets with teacher

Friday - finish guided practice worksheets as a group with the teacher


ELEMENTARY READING (2ND PERIOD - 3RD PERIOD)

Monday - Master Test 1

Tuesday - begin Lesson 31, word attack, read story

Wednesday - no class, elementary/junior high ski day

 Thursday - read story for Lesson 31 again (too many errors first time), do Lesson 31 workbook

Friday - correct Lesson 31 workbook, record grades, do Lesson 32 word attack, read story


8TH GRADE GEOGRAPHY SUMMIT (4TH PERIOD)

Monday - begin Global Summit, draw names for presentation of issues

Tuesday - finish Global Summit from yesterday

Wednesday - may begin Travels of My Clothing project, must also work on next 2 power focuses, power focus #3 and #4 will be due at the end of the quarter, if some students still do not have #1 and #2 completed they must finish them ASAP

Thursday -  continue working on Travels and power focuses

Friday - SDL

PREP (5TH PERIOD)


SPANISH I (6TH PERIOD)

Monday - introduce Chpt 3A, read introductory pages and Videohistoria, practice correct pronunciation and accent on all new vocabulary, do 3A Vocab WS

Tuesday - continue in Chpt 3A, read next 2-3 pages and do all activities as a group, begin doing Guided Practice WS and WB pages

Wednesday - continue 3A, read next 2-3 pages, do all activities, GPWS and WB

Thursday - continue 3A, next 2-3 pages, all activities, GPWS and WB

Friday - continue 3A, practice conjugating all new verbs COMER, BEBER, COMPARTIR
